On April 9, 2022, Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company officially put into operation the passenger transport route from the shore to Da Nang - Ly Son island, departing from Han River Port to Ly Son island. Han River Port is a convenient location to pick up and drop off passengers, but during the journey through Mui Nghe on Son Tra peninsula to go around the estuary, this location often has very large waves, every time the ship moves through this area, passengers can easily get seasick and negatively affect the rest of the journey.

With the agreement of the People's Committee of Da Nang City and local departments, the Trung Trac Ship (currently undergoing procedures to change its name to Da Nang Express) belonging to Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company will test the Da Nang - Ly Son route, departing from CT15 Border Guard Station Wharf on Son Tra Peninsula to Ben Dinh Port - Ly Son, on August 28, 2022.
This is a trial run at the new port, aiming to shorten the time of the sea journey, making it more convenient and comfortable for both locals and tourists. With the shortened route, the ticket price is expected to be reduced to only 360,000 VND to 450,000 VND/trip. According to the plan, after completing the procedures for changing the name and going on annual drydocking according to regulations, the Da Nang Express will return to serve locals and tourists in early 2023.
