At 09:00 on May 6, 2022, Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company in coordination with 189 LLC under the General Department of National Defense solemnly held the launching ceremony of the super ship Thang Long - the largest single-hull high-speed ship in Vietnam, to prepare for operation, serving passengers traveling and traveling on the Vung Tau - Con Dao route, expected in June 2022.
The Thang Long super high-speed passenger ship has a total of 4 floors, 2 Eco cabin floors, 1 VIP cabin floor, 1 top floor dedicated to 'Café Roof Top'; total capacity of up to 1,017 passengers, using the world's most modern Rolls-Royce MTU engine from Germany, fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly, the ship's hull is made of aluminum alloy imported from Italy, helping the ship reach speeds of up to 30 nautical miles/h, with a total capacity of 11,580 horsepower.
Thang Long possesses a safety advantage that far surpasses the modern high-speed train generations that have been launched, with a length of up to 77.46 meters with a special design of the bow that increases the length of the waterline, increases stability and minimizes the vertical roll that no other high-speed train has been able to overcome. Therefore, the train was designed to serve the Vung Tau - Con Dao route, which is the longest route among the routes that high-speed trains are currently operating.
Up to now, the ship system of Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company has reached 11 advanced and safest ships in Vietnam, which have been exploiting and operating routes from the shore to the country's pearl islands such as Phu Quoc Island, Con Dao Island, Nam Du Island and most recently the route from Da Nang to Ly Son Island.
