Prisoners had to carry stones, sand, and cement from the foot of the mountain to the summit of Mount Mot. The harsh labor caused many to strongly object and they were brutally punished by withholding food, forbidding bathing, and strict confinement.<\/p>\n<p>The climax is the event <b>\u201crock cellar\u201d<\/b>. The enemy has completely sealed us in <b>63 prisoners<\/b> pinned to two rock shelters, and used gunny sacks to seal the vents. In that tragic event, comrade <b>Mai Van Xinh<\/b> valiantly sacrificed due to suffocation on <b>01\/5\/1965<\/b>.
