The story goes that long ago, C\u00f4n \u0110\u1ea3o suffered from drought, and the people were suffering until the five goddesses appeared with mystical powers corresponding to the five elements of heaven and earth. They helped the island create metal, reclaim land, and bring fresh water and fire to the people. Although this is only an oral tradition, the people's faith and gratitude are embodied in the name of the temple. The locals call it the Five Elements Temple because it worships the Five Element Goddesses; also, because there are five goddesses, it is popularly known as the Temple of the Five Maidens. Although small in scale, it is very solemn. Inside the main worship hall are eight altars representing the gods. In the center is the main altar dedicated to the Five Elements Goddesses and two high-ranking gods. On the left side of the temple are altars dedicated to the three gods Quan Cong, Quan Binh, and Chau Xuong, while on the right side are altars dedicated to Tho Cong and Tho Dia, reflecting the belief in the protection of the gods in daily life. On each altar are statues representing the Five Elements goddesses with distinctive colors (white - Kim Ba, green - Moc Ba, black - Thuy Ba, red - Hoa Ba, yellow - Tho Ba).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Every year, the temple organizes <\/span><b>Thanksgiving ceremony and festival<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is very solemn. Especially on the 16th, 17th, and 18th days of the 10th lunar month, the Ng\u0169 H\u00e0nh Temple Festival is held with many traditional rituals such as palanquin processions, paying tribute to ancestors, and cultural activities. During this time, visitors from all over come to visit in large numbers, creating a lively yet solemn atmosphere. Since there are few shuttle services in this area, a taxi is the most suitable option (fare is approximately 17,000\u201320,000 VND\/km).
